Community Regeneration
Bringing people back into everyday contact with plants, soil, food and community life.
RE:GEN Community Regeneration develops urban community garden models in Malaysia that reconnect people with plants, soil, food-growing, learning and shared community action. The model is designed to adapt to different land sizes, campuses, neighbourhoods and institutional spaces.

THE PURPOSE
Nature should not feel far away from everyday city life.
The goal is simple: make it easier for people to touch soil, grow something, learn from nature and contribute together.

action to community regeneration
How an Urban Community Garden Supports Community Regeneration.
An urban community garden can be more than a place to grow vegetables. It can become a shared environment where residents, students, volunteers and organisations learn together, contribute time and reconnect with nature in everyday city life.
Within RE:GEN, the garden acts as a practical community platform. Activities can include food-growing, herbal planting, pollinator habitats, soil improvement, composting, biochar demonstrations, environmental learning and volunteer participation. Different modules can be selected according to the land, community and partnership goals.

action to community regeneration
From Nature Connection to Community Action.
The purpose is not simply to create a beautiful green space. RE:GEN Community Regeneration is designed to encourage repeated participation. People can return to plant, learn, volunteer, contribute through Time Bank activities and take part in longer-term environmental and community programmes. For corporate, university and public-sector partners, these activities can also support ESG participation through measurable volunteer hours, community engagement, environmental education and nature-based action.
